It shines not like a glossy or satin finish, but with some very fine shimmer, like mother-of-pearl. This is in addition to the larger golden sequins. I don't like this type. like matte pearl. But it's very pigmented, one swipe is enough. Overall, I recommend it; it seems there are plenty of fans of this kind of lipstick. Not exactly what you'd call pearlescent in the usual sense. The colors are beautiful, except for Barbie pink.
Probably the matte version is better, there's no pearl effect, but the gold glitter ruins everything.
